Individual activity bookings
Lapponia Tours Ltd applies the following conditions in ordering and booking activity services and cancellation of the booked services. Both parties are bound by these conditions once the customer has made a booking.
The person who makes the booking must be of legal age.
Reservation and payment
A reservation is confirmed when the full price of the booking is paid.
Online bookings
- confirmation will be sent by e-mail after booking is completed
- the client needs to inform his lodging and address in Saariselkä village area, the ages of children participating in the activities, food allergies and whether any medical conditions of any of the participants can affect the running of an activities as planned
Bookings by e-mail or phone:
- the invoice / confirmation will be sent by e-mail
- the invoice must be paid in total by due date

Cancellation terms of activities
If confirmed booking is cancelled:
- 7 days or less prior the activity day – 100 % will be charged (incl. ‘no show’ and not being in time clients)
In case of illness
Refunds will only be made in case of illness. To claim a refund, a medical certificate needs to be at Lapponia Tours Ltd within 2 working days of the cancellation date. Cancellation in the case of illness should be informed in written / by e-mail latest on the day prior to the activity by 2 PM.
Non-payment is not a cancellation. Client should inform Lapponia Tours Ltd of an intend to cancel the reservation. Lapponia Tours Ltd reserves the right to cancel a booking in the case the payment is not made by the due date.
Cancellation terms for groups
Lapponia Tours Ltd applies the following conditions in ordering and booking activity services and cancellation of the booked services. Both parties are bound by these conditions once the group reservation is confirmed.
Groups (min. 10 adults) / private / tailored activities
Category A: Snowmobile tours, reindeer tours and other nature- and northern light tours and private/group transfers, outfit rentals:
- 31 – 15 days prior to the activity date, a cancellation fee of 50 % of the total amount payable is charged
- 14 – 0 days prior to the activity date, a cancellation fee of 100 % of the total amount payable is charged
Category B: husky tours, ice karting and horse riding
- 35 days prior to the tour, a cancellation fee of 100 % of the total amount payable is charged
Group size 30 pax – 50 pax (14 days prior activity date):
- Group size can be reduced by 10 % without cancellation fee
- 1 tour leader free of charge per group
Other safari terms
Snowmobile safaris
Snowmobiles are insured as required by The Finnish Traffic Insurance Act. This insurance covers medical care for injuries to the driver and the passenger arising from accidents.
Personal injuries and damages to other parties are fully covered according to The Finnish Traffic Insurance Act.
Snowmobile safari participants are held liable for damages caused to snowmobiles rented to them. The self-liability amount is maximum 1200 € per snowmobile and per accident case. You can half the own liability (1200 € > 600 €) by paying 50 € / person before the safari.
- The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license in Finland – please read more regulations: Foreign driving license in Finland.
- During snowmobile safaris children under 12 years old sit in a sleigh pulled by the guide, if not specified otherwise by a producer.
- Small children should be accompanied by an adult when sitting in a sleigh during an activity.
- Driving of a snowmobile under the influence of an alcoholic and/or other toxic substance is prohibited by Finnish law. The payment is not refunded on this reason.
- Every participant is required by law to wear a helmet on a snowmobile safari.
- Snowmobile activities are not recommended for pregnant women.
Husky safaris
- The personal liability is 1200 € /case of accident.
- During husky safaris children under 14 years old are not allowed to drive a husky team, but sit in a sleigh – to drive a husky team the client should be physically fit (also minimum weight, height etc.)
- Small children should be accompanied by an adult when sitting in a sleigh during an activity.
- Husky activities are not recommended for pregnant women.
Private activities
- Minimum 4 payable adults
- Extra charge for private safari 500 €
Additional conditions
- The producer is not liable for any loss, injury, damage whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from incidents or accidents during transfers, meals, accommodation, games and other activities except to the extent that such loss, injury or damage is caused by intention or by gross negligence.
- The client is obliged to compensate producer any indirect loss and costs arising from any negligent act or omission or from any other reason which does not follow the given instructions.
- All transfers including in the activity are under the liability of the producer.
- Lapponia Tours Ltd and its producer reserves the right to change the program due to safety or weather conditions etc.
- Lapponia Tours Ltd and its producer reserves the right to interrupt an activity if a participant is seen as a potential danger to him/herself or to other participants. In case of termination of an activity the payment is not refunded.
- Personal travel insurance is highly recommended. Please check the coverage of your travel insurance.
Applicable law and place of litigation
The Contracting Parties shall strive to solve disputes concerning the Contract together through negotiations. In the event an agreement cannot be reached through negotiations disputes shall be carried out in the District Court of Lappi. The Contract is bound by Finnish law. Lapponia Tours Ltd shall not be liable for changes arising subsequent to this publication which are beyond our control, for example force majeure (strike, fire, water damage, nature disaster, war etc.). Lapponia Tours Ltd reserves the right to make changes.

CANCELLATION:
If the tour is canceled up to 6 days (144 hours) in advance, a full refund applies.
If the tour is canceled up to 2 days (48 hours) in advance, a 20% refund applies.
No refund for cancellation made less than 48 hours before the beginning of the activity. No refund for “no show” (confirmed bookings that are not cancelled at all but participants do not arrive on time/at all).
AMENDMENTS:
In case the customer has booked several slots for an activity and wishes to cancel only some of them, standard terms of cancellation are applied to the slots cancelled. In case the customer falls suddenly ill, is injured or otherwise incapable to participate in the activity due to medical reasons, the customer is entitled to receive 80% refund of the price of the activity provided by Ky Polaris Point Horses LP. To receive any refund, customer has to cancel the activity through booking engine used for booking and on writing (text message/e-mail) before the starting time of the activity and provide Ky Polaris Point Horses LP a written document from a medical doctor within 14 days of cancellation.
Ky Polaris Point Horses LP may not be held responsible for compensating any possible damages incurred to the customer or customers belongings related to natural conditions, insects, animals or unexpected changes in the weather. Ky Polaris Point Horses LP reserves the right to alter or cancel the activity if weather conditions or other factors would cause a hazardous conditions or otherwise compromise safety. Joining the activity is participants liability. We kindly ask participants to take in consideration the possible risks such as pregnancy, illness and challenges of mobility and other functions.
