The natural development for the area was to create accommodation and other services for travellers. At first the building was allocated somewhere close to Rovaniemi and it was hold as a military canteen by Germans during WWII.<\/p>\n<p>Later the hut was moved to Rovaniemi where it served as a bakery for the Pohjanhovi Hotel, which was rasing up from ashes after the war. Probably the building also accommodated hotel\u2019s guests before the hotel itself was built up properly.<\/p>\n<p>And finally it was moved to Saariselk\u00e4. Nowadays there are <a href=\"http:\/\/kaunispaanhuippu.fi\/en\/ravintola\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Restaurant<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/kaunispaanhuippu.fi\/en\/tuliaistupa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Souvenir shop<\/a>. It is just the same spot where the Santa\u00b4s Hotel Tunturi is situated nowadays. The lodge served as children\u00b4s camping site in summer. Hikers and travellers also used the lodge all year round.<\/p>\n<p>The Children&#8217;s Friends&#8217; of Lapland Association was advertised in January 1954 as follows: \u201cDormitory in spacious rooms with spring-based, iron bunk beds and electric light. The sauna is warming up every day. \u201d<\/p>\n<p>Building was destroyed in fire in 1958. Only 3 buildings were left. One of them is still standing by river Luttojoki.
