Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4, hiking centre and mountain<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_orientation=”center” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 is both, a hiking center and a mountain in Lapland.
\nKiilop\u00e4\u00e4 is located 16 km (by road) and beeline 10 km to south from Saariselk\u00e4 village.<\/p>\n

Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 has a longest hiking and camping history in the Saariselk\u00e4 tourism area<\/a>. First road was made in year 1963. Mostly it is still same road what we use today, crossroads is in Kakslauttanen. Suomen Latu built the first wilderness hut on Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 in year 1963. Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 mountain<\/h3>\n

Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 (546 m) is one of the highest arctic mountains in the fell area of Saariselk\u00e4. Highest is Sokosti (717 m).<\/p>\n

Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 is in Urho Kekkonen National Park.<\/a> From Suomen Latu Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4s parking place is a marked hiking route to the top of the Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4. Route is 2 km \/ one way.<\/p>\n

Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 fell is on the border of the municipalities of Inari and Sodankyl\u00e4 and Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 belongs to Natura 2000 area. Natura 2000 is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union.<\/p>\n

Suomen Latu Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4<\/h3>\n

Suomen Latu<\/a> is a non-profit organization whose goal has been “Promoting Finnish sports and health sports” for fifty years.<\/p>\n

Suomen Latu want people to have access to outdoor recreation, in spite of age, background or personal basis. Vision is that everyone can find a meaningful way to engage in outdoor activities and to be able to enjoy nature. A cornerstone of Suomen Latus work is to focus on children’s well-being and their interest and relationship with nature. Improve the conditions of outdoor life in Finland.<\/p>\n

Suomen Latu Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4 – nature sports center, is located 16 km south of the center of Saariselk\u00e4, 10 km as the crow flies. The paths and trails of the Saariselk\u00e4 fell area can be reached right from Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4’s yard, where there is also one gate to Urho Kekkonen National Park<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Food and dining in Kiilop\u00e4\u00e4<\/h3>\n
